A conversation with Sarah Dahl, Ancillary Benefits Consultant
ThreeFlow was the partner best suited for our needs, especially in preserving our carrier relationships—something incredibly important to us as brokers. A solution like ThreeFlow could create combative relationships between the producer, broker, and carrier, or even amongst the carriers themselves, but ThreeFlow does not do that. It saves time. It's efficient and not just for us. It saves time for everyone because there’s less back and forth. ThreeFlow helps us better represent our carrier products because we know what’s in the system is complete and accurately captured.
The biggest outcome I was hoping for was a more efficient RFP process for my internal colleagues. Not only more efficient but more accurate. ThreeFlow allows us to be better partners to our carriers and provide better consulting to our clients because our RFPs are accurate. It’s an experience that significantly lifts our team.
Because the spreadsheets are correct, we are doing a better job representing our carriers and explaining to our clients the coverages that they have and the coverages that they're buying.
The implementation process with ThreeFlow has been phenomenal. They've just been wonderful partners and fantastic project managers. For the Upper Midwest, we had three different offices implementing at the same time, each with their own schedules. The ThreeFlow team, especially our implementation manager, kept the project moving along.
Every single person I’ve worked with has been incredibly responsive and helpful. It’s one thing to be responsive, but it's another to be responsive and helpful at the same time.
They were just incredibly flexible with timing, meeting me where I wanted the project to go and flexing their processes around that.
Time savings. Once you have all your documents gathered, you can just push the button to go to market. That’s really where we’re saving time. All the carriers are getting the same information at the same time. If I was doing the spreadsheet ThreeFlow easily saves me hours and hours of time—a solid four hours if we went to market with five carriers. That number can vary, but it’s definitely hours.
Complete RFPs. Our team is doing a better job of getting full certificate documents rather than just summaries for an RFP. It’s been helpful getting the data that we should have in-house for our clients who are going out to market.
One built-in tracker. I really like that you can view all of your clients in one place and see where each is in the process. You don’t have to build and update your own project tracker for each client or segment to see that information.
Standardized and accurate quotes. So far, our spreadsheets are coming back accurate and consistent. Before ThreeFlow, we would have to ask carriers to fill out the spreadsheet and quotes and responses would come back in each carrier’s standard language. ThreeFlow’s system makes it more consistent. It's easier for MMA colleagues to understand what's been submitted by carriers, and it makes it easier for me to train others [how to use the system]. It’s also easier for client teams to present to a client because of the level of consistency that's already been built in ThreeFlow.
Keep an open mind. There may be some resistance and some of that may not be based on the actual ThreeFlow experience. Make sure you're getting the real feedback. Test it out, and give it a chance—you won’t be sorry.
