Why ThreeFlow is the solution for Alliant

A conversation with Leanne Wannemacher, Benefits Analyst Lead

Why did you choose ThreeFlow?

We initially had access to ThreeFlow in our Chicago office, but it wasn't being fully leveraged. After some internal restructuring and the shift to a shared services model, our financial team piloted the platform — and quickly realized its value. We're a lean team servicing a high volume of clients, so anything that improves efficiency and accuracy is a win.

ThreeFlow's ability to remove manual effort from tedious tasks like spreadsheeting was precisely what we needed to manage our time better. It allowed us to go to market faster, reduce manual effort, and keep everything organized. As we piloted the platform, new features like smart proposals were introduced, making the investment even more worth it.

"It's about time management — ThreeFlow does the spreadsheeting for us, and we can save up to 30-60 minutes per placement on spreadsheeting alone."
What are some of the outcomes your team achieved with ThreeFlow?

One of the biggest things we're looking forward to is presentation assistant. We're in the process of sending ThreeFlow Alliant's own custom template so that moving forward we can quickly export plan options to our preferred presentation format.. That's going to be a huge time-saver and help us present more polished,

professional materials quickly.

As a brokerage, we always seek to work with more clients without adding too many resources. I've been able to do this with ThreeFlow. In fact, thanks to ThreeFlow, I can manage double the number of clients and coverages. It's helped us evaluate carrier quotes faster and eliminate uncompetitive options early.

"ThreeFlow helped me take on more clients without sacrificing accuracy."

We also use ThreeFlow Insights to see where we're placing business and who we're going out to market with, which helps us make more strategic decisions.

What was your implementation experience?

From a user standpoint, the experience has been really smooth. I've trained a lot of colleagues on the platform, and the consistent feedback is that it's user-friendly and easy to learn. The first time you go through the process, it takes some effort to set up current coverages — but after that, getting an RFP to market takes only 10-15 minutes.

"After one case, people are basically self-sufficient. It's that intuitive."

Even better, once your book is built and your client data is in place, the process becomes repeatable. You're set up for renewals, and you're not spending time chasing documents or wondering what's missing.

What are some of the early benefits you and your team have experienced since working on ThreeFlow?

We've seen a lot of wins:

  • Doubling coverage placements by having more time and better tools
  • Centralized access to everything — emails, proposals, documents — all in one place
  • Seamless handoffs when someone's out or changes roles
  • Fewer training headaches — new users pick it up quickly
  • Clearer decision-making by quickly narrowing down the most competitive quotes

There was some initial hesitation around the comments that carriers can add to each placement in the platform. Still, once we learned that ThreeFlow sends email notifications for any comments on an opportunity, the hesitation minimized. The only sticking point is the lack of attachment functionality in comments via email, but even with that, the benefits far outweigh any challenges.

"If someone's on leave or switches roles, we can just pick up where they left off."
What would be your advice to other offices considering adopting ThreeFlow?

There's really no reason not to use it. The upfront effort is a one-time commitment, and the time savings — especially during the busy season — are significant. When clients make last-minute decisions, you need to respond quickly, accurately, and confidently. ThreeFlow gives us the ability to do that.

It's not just about doing things faster — it's about doing them better.

"Effort on the front end is minimal — and you save so much time in the long run"
