From underwriters to game designers and food enthusiasts, our Meet the Team series highlights the great people who make up ThreeFlow.
Name: Michelle Chesson
Role: Sr. Manager of Product Delivery
Home office: Castle Pines, CO
What were you up to before ThreeFlow?
I worked at a large consulting firm where I implemented packaged and custom software applications for about 25 years. During that time, I had the opportunity to work across several industries and meet people from around the world. After consulting, I worked as a project and program manager for smaller companies and startups.
These experiences allowed me to grow professionally. I discovered what I'm passionate about (working with custom solutions and shaking up a subject matter I hadn't tapped into before, like helping improve the benefits placement process) and what I’m not. I also realized I loved working with smaller companies because I was involved in different business areas I didn't have visibility into before and was able to immediately impact new processes.
Why did you make the move?
When you find a company with brilliant people, innovative technology, and the opportunity to evolve and scale systems and services, you should grab it. That is what I did in 2019 when I moved to ThreeFlow.
Not only did I see an opportunity to do meaningful work within the employee benefits industry, but I also saw that ThreeFlow emphasizes free-thinking and collaborative discussions. As a result, everyone feels open to voicing ideas, questions, and opinions. On top of that, they offer flexibility to take care of our mental health and family.
How would you explain what you do to a third grader?
A project is a group of tasks and things that produce an output. As a project delivery manager, I organize the project's start, end, and goals to deliver great technology that supports our Benefits Placement System.
What's your favorite thing about your job?
I love collaborating and ideating across different teams and building innovative software capabilities.
What do you like to do for fun?
No matter the season, I love going to the mountains with my family to ski, bike, hike, relax, and reflect.
